“It was encouraging, obviously we conceded a late goal when we went chasing the game, but in terms of possession and chances we were the better team in that cause, but obviously we lost the game. We conceded a silly goal from a set piece. We came out the first 15 minutes of the second half and didn’t actually start that well, and we couldn’t recover from that.”

When asked if it was the best he’d seen the Millers play as manager he said: “Yes, without doubt. In terms of creating chances and making opportunites and keeping possession and making the right decisions, it was without doubt.”

Speaking of Monty who came in for Pollitt, Harford said: “Monty has impressed with his attitude in training, he looks a good keeper. He went in today and I thought he handled the situation really well”.

“What I saw today was encouraging, the attitude of the players was good, I thought the shape of the team was OK, and they went about their business well. It’s just a shame that we’ve lost unfortunately, and we couldn’t convert any of those chances that have come our way. When you get in those positions you’ve got to take your chances because Wolves eventually will get a chance and an opportunity, and with the quality they’ve got in the side they’ll take them.”

After being asked about the performance of the younger members of the squad, Harford responded: “It was difficult to judge Newsham today as he only came on for 7/8 mins, and Hoskins did OK, he got in a couple of times and whipped a good ball across the box, so it’s encouraging, but its hard to judge kids on such a short space of time, but hopefully they will benefit from the opportunity.”

“JCR did OK, it’s difficult to come into a game when you’ve not played for 2 or 3 weeks. His fitness levels looked good. He did OK, he was a threat, especially in the first half”.

“It would be nice to get a win. I’m desperate for
Rotherham to get 3 points or a get a positive result”
