"Most of the players I signed this summer have the ability to play at a higher level but something has happened which is why they find themselves in League One. Knill said.

"I wouldn't have signed any of them if they didn't want to get back to the level they should be. I had to see that they felt they had something to prove."
"The biggest motivator is that they are playing in League One when they should be in the Championship. They can either stay at this level now, and have a career in lower league football or they can pull their fingers out and get back up there."
Knill then went on to speak about the clubs financial worries that has made his job harder.

"The bookmakers have written us off and I don't suppose many teams have survived having started a season with a 10-point penalty. It's a challenge but it gives us a focus straight away which is good. We have to get those 10 points back and aim to finish in a comfortable position. It won't be easy but it is not insurmountable."
"We got out of trouble by playing decent football and that will be our approach again this season. We won't resort to booting it and chasing. We will get it down and move it quickly."
"It has been a pleasant surprise to be able to land the calibre of player that we have. Hopefully, they will get back where they belong with us – but if they go without us, we will still have benefited."
"It could be worse. At one stage I was thinking I might have to get fit and make a comeback."
