We're not here for tickle tackle - Maccio

Last updated : 14 March 2008 By Bigrich.....
Speaking to Radio Sheffield today, Dino Maccio said; "We've had no further discussions with the club but we have put it in the hands of our solicitors and they are liasing with the intended administrator directly on our behalf now. We have confirmed our position with them now."

When asked wether or not Dino had shown proof that his backers have the necessary funds to take over the club, Maccio said; "We have proved via our solicitors to the administrator he has our papers, we have not dealt with the club."

Dino was then asked wether or not the club had seen them, as Denis Coleman had issued a statement denying that had happened.

"We have not spoke with Denis Coleman at all, nothing at all. All our paperwork has gone to the offical administrator." was Dino's reply

Asked if the club will find out who his backers are and the proof of funds, Dino replied with; "Oh yes definately."

The club last week dismissed Maccio and Cartlidges advances as a publicity stunt. Dino was asked what his thoughts on that was; "Well I just think its tit for tat, which we don't want to get involved with really, all we just want to do is look after Rotherham United. We're not going to get involved in tit for tat because we have'nt got time for it. All we're doing is our best for Rotherham United because we think its the last chance and we haven't got time."

Dino was then asked about the clubs claims against himself and Cartlidge. That Maccio owes the club money and Cartlidge tried to claim a near 6 figure sum from the club.

"If they want to prove that we owe them that then let them bring it forward. At the end of the day we're not here to tickle tackle, when we left the club the club made a statement stating thier thanks to us for the work we have done and we're welcome back anytime. Now 14 months on they're bring this back up."

Have you and Dennis fallen out, was asked.. "I'm not commenting on that at all, all we're doing is here to save Rotherham United, any tickle tackling after we'll do after the clubs sorted out. It is a sticking point but like I say we're here to try and save Rotherham United and that is it, theres nothing else to talk about tickle tackling - I find it quite childish at the end of the day."

"We came in 2 years ago, we did our bit and now we're here again to try and do the same."

However, there was still some tickle tackling to be done when Dino was asked why he or his backers are not talking to the club and why its taken until now for them to speak to the administrator.

"We have approached Rotherham United, me and Alan went down and met the Cheif Exec and the accountant, then Denis say's he didn't know nothing about the meeting, but I don't think he wanted the meeting to go along. Thats my view." he said.

"The meeting did take place so at the moment all we're doing now is waiting. If Denis say's he has some investors then good luck to him. If the investors are better than ours then good luck for Rotherham United and go ahead with it. We're not saying we've got to have the club - we want the best for Rotherham United and if there are other people there then we're not going to argue." he added.

Dino was then asked wether the personal problems had held things up; "Probably so but at the moment we're not going into that. At the moment me and Alan have come in to help Rotherham United, we're not into tickle tackling and we haven't got time for that. We need to help Rotherham
United."

Radio Sheffield did ask Denis Coleman for a telephone interview but he declined, however they did read out the following statement from Denis.

It is true that they have approached the person dealing with the notice of administration and have been advised to show proof of funds. THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED.

I can assure that the board of Rotherham United are acting in the best intrests of the club and this is not to enter into dialogue with two people, one who owes the club money and one who's tried to claim close to a 6 figure sum based on a contract signed by the other 10 days before the club even recieved a draft that was refused anyway, copies are still retained by the club.

This is not a game or a cheap publicity stunt for individuals, this is the future of the club.

Signed Denis Coleman

Meanwhile, the fans get treat like crap and told bugger all... RIP Rotherham United, its been emotional..
