"It is appreciated that it is very, very early days, just two league games into the season, but you have to say that the signs are very encouraging," said the Chairman to the clubs official website.

"Throughout the Club we have a determination to succeed. We have ambitious individuals in key areas that are infectious to others and the end result is a very unified workforce - both on and off the pitch.

"We have another game on Tuesday evening at Crewe and then we can look forward to another home fixture (against Barnet) and what really is a special day for Rotherham United Football Club with the 50 year anniversary of the first ever League Cup Final.

"We will be welcoming members of that team on the day, as guests of the Club, and I am really looking forward to meeting with them.

" Far too often former players are not recognised within football and what they achieved when playing for their Clubs, but we absolutely respect and are thankful about the tremendous contribution that so many players have made throughout our history and we are very proud of that."
