We don't have highest wage bill, but big bill saved us. - Coleman

Over the last few weeks/months some supporters have been questioning the Millers wage bill, saying it was too big and not sustainable.

Today the chairman Denis Coleman hits back.

"At the start of this season, we gave Mark Robins a budget that we believed could get us out of this division in the right direction, We think generally that has worked." he told the Advertiser.

"There has been so much rubbish and crap printed that our budget is the first or second biggest in the league but there are a minimum of ten teams in this league paying out a higher budget than us and some are towards the bottom end of the league."

"While money doesn't buy you success, what we also had to think about is that if we were at the bottom of the league, instead of getting 4,000 we could have been getting 2,500. We did think that being in the top three we would have got bigger crowds than we have but no matter where we are we seem to get the same 3,000."

"We decided that by being in the top three we could get bigger crowds and we have spent a lot of time there. A lot of other clubs who have had points deducted have gone into a relegation place," he added.
