The 31 year-old is already becoming a fans favourite after the pre-season matches and is hoping to emulate previous success and gain another promotion on his CV.

He told todays Tiser: "The gaffer expects every ounce of effort that you've got and that is what has given him success before and why I came here.

“I feel he will bring success to this club. He is a fiery character, that's one side of him, but there's another side of him you can relate to and you can chat to him as a normal person.“He took me to Crawley and promised me we'd have success and we did. He's promised me the same again and I believe him. I've a lot of belief in him and he has a lot of belief in me.

“It's just a case now of working hard on and off the pitch now and bringing success to this club. It's an adventure and I feel it is going to be a successful one.”

Scott added  “It's massive competition for the jersey but it's the way me and Andy Warrington would like it.  We push each other every day in training and we support each other. Whoever isn't playing will support the other and that's the way it should be. It's about the team, not individuals.

“We get on well and work hard together and it's exactly what I want. He has played more games and had more experience than me so I'm trying to learn off him as well. It can only do me good.”
