Robins thanks the Millers

After spending nearly two and half years as manager, Mark Robins switched clubs yesterday and joined Barnsley on a rolling contract.

"I'll always look back with fond memories on Rotherham, I think they're in a better position now as I leave than when I first took charge,

"I've had the supporters' backing and that means a lot to me. I'll always cherish my time with the club. The fans have been magnificent, standing by the club even when forced to leave their spiritual home and I'd like to thank them for the support they always gave me,"

"I hope there's success for their sake after what they have had to put up with in recent years." Robins told the Star.

"The players at Rotherham are a great bunch and have really come on leaps and bounds. They might not be as technically skilful as people at this level but they are playing some decent stuff this season. They backed me on the pitch and I'd really love them to continue in the direction they're going, they're a great bunch and I really wish them well."

"When you've spent nine years of your life at one club, it was always going to be hard to leave. Rotherham United has been a big part of my life, I need to place my thanks on record to them for giving me my opportunity, to Denis Coleman, when he was in charge, for the opportunity to manage the team and Tony Stewart allowed me to carry that on and backed me in the transfer market." he added
