Scunthorpe United
went up in style as they trounced Carlisle United at Glanford Park as they departed League One with a 3-0 win. Taylor got the show off and running with a goal 4-minutes before the break, which was followed 2 minutes after the break as Sparrow made it 2-0. The third came from Beckford in the 64th minute. Scunthorpe United 1st, Carlisle United 8th.

Going up with Scunthorpe United are Bristol City who claimed their place in the Championship with a 3-1 over Rotherham United at Ashton Gate in front of 19517. Noble netted a brace with strikes in the 8th and 44th minutes as Russell made it 3 with a goal of his own in the 55th minute. Newsham scored a consolation for the relegated visitors in the 58th minute. Bristol City 2nd, Rotherham United 23rd.

Blackpool could have avoided the play-offs if Bristol City had slipped up, but came away from The Liberty Satdium with a comprehensive 6-3 away win at Swansea City - their 12th away win of the campaign! Iriekpen gave the home side a 14th minute lead only to see Morrell cancel that out in the 25th minute. The Seasiders then took the lead in the 32nd minute. The home side levelled through Trundle 2 minutes after the restart and then took the lead themselves with Iriekpen netting his second of the afternoon in the 55th minute! Morrell then scored 3 more goals in the 57th, 61st and 78th minutes to put Blackpool in the driving seat. Parker rounded off an impressive win with a 6th goal for the visitors in the 89th minute! Swansea City 7th, Blackpool 3rd.

Nottingham Forest were held at home by Crewe Alexandra in a 0-0 draw at the City Ground as other results went against them. Nottingham Forest 4th, Crewe Alexandra 13th.

Yeovil Town claimed their highest ever League placing with an away win over Gillingham at Priestfield. Kalala (63 mins) and Gray (68 mins) was enough to make sure of their place in the end of season play-offs. Gillingham 16th, Yeovil Town 5th.

Oldham Athletic limped home with a Porter goal in the 58th minute to claim the 4th play-off place with a 1-0 win over Chesterfield at Boundary Park. Oldham Athletic 6th, Chesterfield 21st.

Tranmere Rovers ended the seaon on a high with a 3-1 win over Brentford at Prenton Park. Curran netted a hat trick with goals in the 5th, 7th and 36th minutes. The consolation for Brentford was claimed by Willock in the 35th minute. Tranmere Rovers 9th, Brentford 24th.

Millwall left it until their last away game of the season to claim their first away draw of the season! Barrau had given Bradford City a half time lead, only to see Byfield cancel that out shortly after the restart. Barrau put City ahead again in the 67th minute, but with Craig levelling for the London side in the 71st minute, both sides had to settle for a point. Bradford City 22nd, Millwall 10th.

Doncaster Rovers also had to settle for a point as Northampton Town came from behind twice to claim a point at the Keep Moat Stadium. Nelthorpe gave Rovers a 13th minute lead, but saw Crowe level just before the break. Roberts gave the home side the lead again in the 59th minute with Hughes levelling in the 64th minute. Doncaster Rovers 11th, Northampton Town 14th.

Port Vale scored two goals in a 6-minute passage in the second half to kill of AFC Bournemouth at Vale Park. Sodje (51 mins) and Rodgers (57 mins) was enough before Summerfield netted a consolation for the Cherries in the 80th minute. Port Vale 12th, AFC Bournemouth 19th.

Huddersfield Town will be hoping for better things next season as they raced in to a 3-0 half time lead over Leyton Orient. Collins (11 mins) and Holdsworth (26 and 45 mins) put the game beyond doubt before Demetriou netted a consolation in the 59th minute. Huddersfield Town 15th, Leyton Orient 20th.

Cheltenham Town and Brighton & Hove Albion had to settle for a share of the points as they scraped a 1-1 draw at Whaddon Road. Elder had given the Seagull a 23rd minute lead but Finnigan levelled from the penalty spot in the 87th minute. Cheltenham Town 17th, Brighton & Hove Albion 18th.
