Noble happy to be back

After problems in his personal life, a court case to answer and a lingering ankle injury, the 31 year-old, signed from Exeter last summer made a scoring return as a substitute in the defeat to Bristol Rovers two weeks ago.

And after starting and netting again in last weekends win over Northampton, Noble told the Star he's delighted to be back in the fold.

“It’s great just to be playing football again because it hasn’t been great either on or off the pitch and there have been some dark days,” said Noble.

“Even when I got over the ankle injury, I then went and did it again straightaway so that was difficult and all told, at times it’s not been nice. But I hope it’s all behind me now and I can crack on and grasp the chance to show what I can do.

“We have some good midfielders here so it is going to be difficult pinning down a place, but that’s my aim.”

Noble will be hoping to keep his place in the team alongside Michael O'Connor, who himself picked up a groin strain last weekend, but Boss Steve Evans faces a selection issue ahead of Saturdays visit to Burton with Lee Frecklington now available again.

Claude Davis also returns from suspension.
