Moore waits on Coid fitness as team head for Torquay

With temperatures down South having been slightly milder than at home, tomorrows match is still on but that could change so keep an eye out..

The team has headed down today though, and Ronnie Moore is waiting to see if Danny Coid will pass at fitness test.

Moore told Millersplayer: "With Cresswell missing, we could really do with Coidy being fit but he's still got this troublesome hamstring so it will be last minute decision we have to make on him.

"We've brought in young Paul Downing from West Brom as cover and he'll probably be on the bench on Saturday. John Mullins who can play at centre-back and Dale Tonge has just come through a reserve team game, and its good to have him back.

"But a lot depends on Coidy. If he's fit then Mullins will play centre-back. If he's not then Mullins will have to play at right-back because Tongey has only had 90 minutes."

The Millers come up against former Miller Guy Branston, but Moore expects a tough test all round with the Gulls six points behind Rotherham in the table.

He added: "They lost last week but thats the first time in nine games and you don't go that long if you haven't got a good side.

"We know they're a good side going forward and we've got to defend well which hasn't been our forte this season. But not wanting to give excuses, we've never really had a back four this season so far .

"We won at Torquay last season, how I don't know! It was one of them games where we hadn't had a lot of luck when we went there and then we scored two goals in the last five minutes on an awful day and I'd be quite happy to go down there and do that again.

"This is the start of the festive period and our aim is to go without conceding a goal and, if we defend well, then I'm sure we've got enough going forward."
