Midnight walk goal for Brog

Brogan, who turned 20 on Saturday, is aiming to do the 10 mile midnight memory walk with his assistant boss John Breckin in June, and the walk will be one of the milestones in his recovery from the double leg break he suffered in February.

Speaking to the 'Tiser, Stephen admitted that the mental aspect of the recovery is as hard if not harder than the physical.

"I'm doing physio every day with Denis Circuit and going to Hellaby Hall gym every day to swim and cycle. It's coming on alright but it's a long wait." he said.

"I spoke to John Breckin, our assistant manager, whose organising the Memory Walk. It's a good cause and I want to do it and it's a little goal for me to aim for. It won't be long until I'm off the crutches if I keep doing my work. I soon hope to be walking and driving again."

Brog then spoke of the boredom of not being able to partake in different stuff and the mental battle; "It's nine months out and at times it's boring doing the same things. It's probably more of a mental test than a physical test but you just have to get your head round it and kick on."

"I do think back to what happened and that's probably not a good thing but it's hard not to. When MK Dons played at Wembley the other week, it does make you think that a couple of months ago I was playing against them. It's hard to take in."

"These things happen in life but it can make you stronger and I'm looking to come back even better." he added.

Brogan then went on to speak about the Millers current fortunes both on and off the field.

"Going to matches is horrible, I want to be playing, especially with things like they are at the moment. With the club and the team not doing so well makes it even worse. I want to see the club saved for Rotherham's sake and for my own. I'm from Rotherham and if the club folds, I'm stumped. I'd have to find another club but in my state it wouldn't be easy."

"I'm always thinking about my first game back and I want that to be at Rotherham with all my family watching me and us up there in the top three again. That would be great. It's a dream but it shouldn't be too hard a thing to achieve."

"The offfield situation is out of our hands but if the club can survive and we keep the players who are still here now then there's no reason we shouldn't be back up there next season."

"I go to Lilleshall at the end of this month and that's the best treatment you can get. I'll be going there throughout the summer, It's down to me to keep putting the work in." he added.
