Strong sources informed us of Dino's imminent departure earlier this week and we brought you the news first, now it has been confirmed by the club that restaurant owner Maccio has left the Millers.

He has been followed by fellow director Alan Cartledge, leaving a board of Chairman Denis Coleman and directors Dave Costin and Giles Brearley.

Speaking to www.themillers.co.uk, Cartledge said: "We wish the club all the best."

"We have been involved since the inception of the new board and have seen the club make progress. We believe this is the best time to step down from the board.

"We have really appreciated the backing from the Millers' fans over the last few months and will be back at Millmoor whenever we can," added Mr Cartledge.

Dino retains a 36% shareholding in the club and said: "I have really enjoyed my time on the board building relationships with the fans, many of whom have become friends. The club knows that where I can I am always available to help."

Chief operating Officer Paul Douglas explained: "With Dino and Alan making this decision, we would like to thank them both for the tremendous contributions they have made to the survival of the club. They deserve special credit for what they did for Rotherham United. They were prepared to have a go back in March where others didn't.

"They will be always welcome at the club and we look forward to seeing them again whenever they can get down to Millmoor."

Denis Coleman concluded by adding his comments, he said: "The departures will not threaten the continued progress the club is making on and off the field."

MillersMAD would also like to express our thanks to Dino and Alan, for assisting to help us build a relationship with the new regime. All the best in the future, and who would rule out a possible return later down the track?.....
