Knill blast for team critics

Today's Star reports Knill, who's team lost its second game in 10 outings, was angry at the line's of questioning after the game and also appeared to be disgruntled by comments made towards his players by some Millers supporters.

Not a happy bunny
He explained: How was that a crucial game?. We're 21 games in, how was that one crucial? Crucial does not come until the end of the season.

"Every game we've had, according to the Press and just about everybody else, has been crucial.

"We're trying to fight our way up the league from a starting point of minus 10. There have been people mentioning play-offs but when you start from minus 10, the realism is that you are going to be down there.

"We have just done really well to get where we are now but it does annoy me that everyone thinks we should come here (to Cheltenham) and win, just like that. That's not how football is.

"So, I'm not happy, definitely not. We didn't play well but you can't always play well.

"I suppose everybody will be talking doom and gloom now that we've lost. That's two defeats in 10 - a few teams would take that."

"You're asking if the team is up for the fight ... are they up for a fight? That's a ridiculous question.

"They have been up for the fight for the previous 21 games. Yes, they are (up for it) and I expect us to be up for the fight from now to the end of the season.

"We've always been down at the bottom and always knew we had a long
haul.

"It seems people expect us to win. It doesn't work like that. Some parts of our game we weren't happy with, but the effort was there. If it's not then you start worrying. Sometimes the quality wasn't there but the effort was."

Knill's men face a trip to Swansea this coming weekend with another long trip for the travelling fans, he concluded: "People do get upset when you lose. They travel a long way, pay good money and spend a lot of time following the team."
