Head 2 Head and Early Team News: Nottingham Forest (A- 17/9/05)

Last updated : 15 September 2005 By Millersmad Staff
Club captain Colin Murdock is expected to come back in to the squad after missing three matches following the death of his father but will have a battle to get back in to the starting XI following an impressive covering stint from Phil Gilchrist.

Scott Minto is definitely out with an achilles injury that also kept him out of last week's 3-0 win over Gillingham and Jamal Campbell-Ryce will be with the Southend squad following his loan move there but will be ineligible to play for them until the 1st October. The Millers are not thought to have any other selection worries and aim to carry on their impressive early season start.

Time Running Out For Megson
Nottingham Forest have endured a nightmare opening six weeks to life in League One. They currently lie in the bottom four and fans stayed behind and protested following their 2-0 reverse at Barnsley last week. Gary Megson is under huge pressure and defeat against Rotherham could see him become the first manager to lose his job this season.

Megson's worries are compounded by a lengthy injury list. Striker David Johnson, who has had public rows with Megson, is definitely out following a shoulder injury sustained at Barnsley last Saturday and his joined on the sidelines by midfielder Gary Holt who has a fractured foot. Big names Paul Gerrard, Danny Culip and Kris Commons are all doubtful and may have to undergo fitness tests. Some good news for Forest though is that defender John Curtis is fit to play after recovering from an ankle injury.
