Evans returned from a bad ankle injury ahead of schedule and Andy Scott told the press after the 0-0 draw that much was owed to the commitment to get the winger match fit again.
"Gareth coming back and playing the time he did was a boost for us. Credit has to go to Evo and the medical team for the work they did while he was out injured.
"He took 45 minutes to get into it in fairness to him but he felt good and he looked good in training this week. There was a little bit of rustiness in the first half, but in the second half he looked more of a threat and was more like his old self, he had shots and a couple of good crosses so we are pleased to have him back."
