to join forces with Booth?
Freeman stated that he has called Ken Booth to ask about the possibility, but Ken was'nt available. But Freeman is hoping to see him on Thursday on his arrival back into the UK, with a view to re-joining the board and give a financial boost to the club.

"The circumstances have changed from trying to takeover the club, what we want to do is try and join forces with Ken as the Booth family wont let the top car park out of the equation. So we want to try and join forces with him to try and bring down the burden of the £25k loses each week and pass some equity onto Ronnie Moore to bring some players in to strengthen the squad, Loan players at this moment of time." Freeman told Football Heaven.

"I think at the end of the day now is the time to sit aroudn the table and join forces! And lets all try and put as much in as Ken has, to try to get us out of this postion and stay in this division."

Will he accept?
When asked what he thought Ken would have open arms for the deal, "I think anybody who is willing to join forces with something that is losing a substancial amouunt of money would welcome the offer! But until I've sat with him I dont know!."

"The club is nearly £3m in debt and losing £25k a week, so I think what we need to do is to get capital into the club now, strengthen the squad so we can stay in this division that will improve the stability of the overdraft and bring the crowds back to Millmoor, Its the only way forward at this time."

"We're Rotherham people and willing to put money in to help the chairman, lets stop all this tit for tat and improve the side and keep them in this division."

Freeman then gave us the reason why he has suddenly changed his mind from wanting to takeover the club. "Well things changed because at the beginning of the season the overdraft was a considerable amount less and we had the backing of the council for help with the new stadium, and the arguement of the top car park which is needed to improve the ground, its not a quick fix but to try and improve the position that we're in is to join forces and instead of Mr
Just give him the tools to do his job!
Booth fronting all the bills is for us to put our money where our mouths are and try and improve the position."

Although Freeman didnt mention exactly how much money he is looking to put into the club. "We're looking to sit down with Ken, then if he agrees on the understanding that he accepts us on board we will be looking to sit down with Ronnie to bring in the quality of players which he needs and we need to pay that bit extra to improve the squad. It's not in the millions, Ronnies got players he wants to bring in but because of his budget he cannot bring anybody unless somebody goes out, but the position we're in at this moment in time it needs a gamble for us to put a percentage in to bring in the players Ronnie feels he needs."

again??
However, takeover talk entered the fray again with Freeman possibly looking at taking the club over in the summer. "The next step is to speak with Ken to try and get this going as soon as we can, then see how we go towards the end of the season then sit down with Ken and see if we can take the club over at the end of the season, We're not just looking for a quick fix but we need somebody who is willing to throw a few quid at the situation for Ronnie to get us out of the hole we're in."

All this on the day that RUFC Chief Exec Phil Henson told the Official Site that the club are aware of Freemans bid of last week, and offered him a deadline of Thursday to give proof of funds to Ken Booth.

"The response to that was to say that if he had proof of funds within seven days then Mr Booth would consider it.  As of yet there has been no reply, so we must (conclude) if nothing arrives by Thursday, Mr Freeman won't be proceeding," Henson told.
