Corby praises clubs support over freezing weather

Chairman Denis Coleman (right) has led the way in spending money on a frost protective sheet for the Millmoor surface, which is said to keep conditions playable in any temperature dropping upto -7 degrees.

Corby, speaking to Millersworld, admits they did everything to get the Swansea and Blackpool games on but the weather eventually came out the winner.

He explained: "It was very disappointing that we had to call the games off, it was a close decision both times. The referee and both managers inspected the areas which were affected and made the decision that it would have to be called off.

"We did everything in our power to get the game on, we were at it all day on Friday, but in the end the weather just beat us.

"The board of Directors have now taken steps to ensure this doesn't happen again, they have invested in some frost protection sheeting, which we have been guaranteed will protect the affected areas down to -7.

"I've been at the club for over 23 years and no one has ever done anything about the problem, now within two weeks of the frost Denis Coleman and the board of Directors have invested in a frost protection for the pitch - and as with everything they have been very supportive."
