A nice drive and a chat about everything from middle lane drivers to Shaun of the Dead and we were there, Coalville Town, and cricket too.
Having paid the £7 to get in and a quid for the programme (Vanessa as one to watch !!!!! and the now departed Proctor) it was to the bar and then on to watch the cricket whilst we waited for the football to start.
Pint in hand down stairs to the cricket, having just got there and asking what the score was we found out it was 2 runs for 1 wicket. “Who’s the gimp who got out?” The response from the giant “Me!”. Hhhmmmm in for one of those days I thought.
Bit of banter with the cricket lads and then like set of baywatch babes the Millers strutted out with their “big arm” Nike vests on. Ready to warm up it was time for another beer.
To be honest the boys looked well, they looked relaxed and the attitude during the warm up was spot on. Another beer I think.
Right to the football, well sorry lads this is where the story finishes, I was pissed. How many? I would like to think loads, in reality it was more like 4 and a bottle of cider! Who knows? All I know is I woke this morning thinking “Stick that in your report then Gerry!” Giggling I just knew I had to ask Big Rich what the crack was!
