Barker to stick with the Millers?

Barker was missing from the start of Pre-Season training last Friday which started all kinds of speculation that he was on the verge of leaving the club.

Barker was offered new and improved terms at the end of last season MillersMAD understands, meaning that should he move the club would recieve a fee for him which would be decided by a football league tribunal.

As Barker has been talking to other clubs (mainly Blackpool), he has been unable to train with the rest of the Millers squad. However speaking to Radio Sheffield today, Millers boss Alan Knill is confident that Barker will sign a new deal to stay with the Millers.

"Hopefully over the weekend we will know more and I think that Shaun has deep down wanted to stay but he has had offers from other clubs and he's been thinking them over. Which he has every right to do." Knill said.

"In the meantime we've signed another centre-half, so when he comes back, which we think he will do. There will be good competition in that position. Which I think you need." Knill added.
