After nearly a month of fundraising, Rotherham United have raised £350,000 towards the new stand, with RUST raising £200,000 of that and have ensured at least a 25.1% of the shareholding in the club.

Chairman Peter Ruchniewicz praised the Millers fans, he told the official website "We have been very encouraged by the response so far and cannot thank the fans enough,"

"The RUST fundraising campaign has well and truly highlighted what we are trying to achieve at Millmoor. Rotherham United relies on its fantastic fans - there are thousands who care passionately about the Millers. Just think, if just a further 1,000 supporters took up the Bronze donation package (£100) they would be personally making a difference."

However the club are needing another £100k to start the project and the fundraising will continue in an attempt to get in.

Just 100k off!!!
Peter Ruchniewicz told tonights Football Heaven "We need another £200k of new money, but we need basically £100,000 to get started, but we have a preferred contractor. I had a meeting with board members last week and we have another next week and we're looking at a June 1st signing and away we go."

The club are hoping to raise the initial £100k this month and the remaining £100 by the start of the season. In order to do this the current fundraising scheme will continue and there will be a prize draw for all donors (including those already donated!) from the Bronze level upwards, with some holidays as prizes.

People can continue to donate, more information is on the RUST website - www.rufctrust.co.uk
