Vale are without forward Tom Pope, signed from the Millers just last week and Jim Gannon must choose a replacement as part of the conditions of Pope's loan deal sees his unavailable.

Marc Richards is out with injury but Gannon welcomes back midfielder Doug Loft.

Ronnie Moore has slight fitness doubts over Nick Fenton and Dale Tonge but both are expected to be fit for the Millers.

Jason Taylor sits out the final game of his suspension as Ian Thomas-Moore continues on the left side of midfield.
