20Questions - Swindon Town

Last updated : 30 November 2005 By Bigrich.....
Who are you, where are you from and how long have you supported your club?

Tim Bennett, from Swindon. Have supported the club for the past 14 years.

What was your first game?
home to Watford in the 1991/2 season.

Describe the most memorable and the worst game you have seen and why?
Most memorable is still the 1993 Wembley play off final at Wembley. 3-0 up against Leicester City, then they bought it back to 3-3, before Steve White got fouled in the box in the final few minutes and Paul Bodin scored the penalty to make it 4-3 and give Swindon their one and only season in the Premiership.

Worse game, there have been quite a few of these, but I'll pick the Cheltenham game a few years ago. Made harder by the fact I work in Cheltenham, and they won both the games in what was Swindon's worst performance in the last few years.

Who are your current local rivals and why?
Should be Oxford United, but we haven't played them for a few years, so is Bristol City for the time being. Have beaten them quite a bit recently, and they are our nearest local rivals, and have a few of our ex players in their squad, plus we have a few of their old players as well.

Who are the best and worst players you have seen?
Sam Parkin was the best scoring around 75 goals in the 3 seasons he spent at the club before moving to Ipswich in the summer.
There is no worse player that stand out as such, but quite a few have had terrible games, and some you wonder how they ever became a footballer.

How did you fare last season?
Average finishing mid table in League 1, tried for the play off's but never quite made it.

Where do you think you'll finish up this season?
Bottom five or so. A bad start and shows little sign of improving.

If Swindon were a TV personality, who would it be and why?
No idea dear. Someone on the way down in their career. Maybe someone in the jungle programme, but I dont watch it to know their names.

So what do you think of The Millers?
Not a lot really. Don't like them or hate them. They are just another team who we haven't played for a few years. Mick Harford's only are connection as far as I know.

Mick Harford spent a while down there, your views on him?
Came in as assistant, never spent that much time with us before being offered a better job with you. If he's stayed around I think it would have made a good manager. The players said he made a difference in his few weeks at the club.

Which current or former Millers player has impressed you the most?
Don't know any of the current squad. Kevin Watson use to play for you, and us, and was quite good.

Are you happy with your chairman and board members?
No, The chairman Willie Carson is never at the games. At 3pm on a Saturday he's often on BBC1 on Grandstand. Others have limited knowledge on the game (Sandy Gray) but some are doing a good job with limited resources like Mark Devlin, and club backer Sir Seton Wills.

Which team do you want to beat this season the most and why?
Bristol City as they are our locals rivals. Already been them at home, so a double would be good.

Is this game a 6 pointer to you?
Yes, we need to move of the bottom of the table soon, and start to close the gap.

What sort of line up can we expect from you?
Most of the defence is suspended, but apart from that a normal line up with Fallon, Roberts and Bouazza up front.

Who's your strongest/weakest link?
The weakest link this week will be the defence with at least 4 of them suspended. Fallon is scoring a lot up front this season.

What's your predicted score?
1-1. We have been good recently away in the league.

Who's going up?
Huddersfield and Swansea, and Barnsley.

Who's going down?
Swindon, Bristol City, MK Dons & Gillingham

And finally..Meat and tatty, Beef n Onion or Balti?
what's tatty? I'll go for a Balti.
