The players deserve the credit - Robbo

Last updated : 20 December 2008 By Bigrich.....
"The players deserve immense credit, they've passed the ball well and taken thier chances, if they had taken them all it could have been a cricket score but its a really tough place to come and get a win and we've played some good football as well."

"We had to reorganise at half time I think it was a case of the players being made aware of where we needed to press a bit further up the field and second half we did that more and they did'nt cause us too many problems but their a decent side, they're better than they were last year and theyve got a goal against us again, I wanted a clean sheet but I'm delighted with the result and how things have gone because although it's important to take the 3 points its good to play well as well."

Robbo gave praise to his strikers, Richie Barker and Mark Burchill; "They're fresh, they've not been playing regularly and you could see that today becuase people have raised eyebrows about Richie, but he's a proven goalscorer at this level and we need goals. I'm pleased with not just the goals that Mark's taken but with his overall workrate and committment to the cause, because we certainly need that in every department. If your one light and the others not putting a shift in then whatever league your playing in you'll get beaten, so I was pleased with everybodys committment."

"Mark Burchill has come into the side and he has taken his chances superbly. We had four of five clear-cut chances in the first half and Nick Fenton missed a good opportunity in the second half, but I am not complaining because it was a good display and more importantly we got the three points."

"We know what Mark Burchill is capable of and I thought that today the time was right for him to come back into the side, He came off the bench and made a good contribution against Darlington on Tuesday night and we now want him to continue that form because that is the reason I signed him."

"Today the quality of the game was better than it has been although it was starting to come on Tuesday night, we've taken the confidence from that result into todays game."

"It's a tough place to come and get a result but we passed the ball effectively on what was a difficult surface to play on. We kept possession very well, especially in the first 25 minutes, and we could have been out of sight with some of the chances we created.
