The game finished 1-1 after 90 minutes with Nick Fenton bringing the Millers level in the second half, however hero of the game was young goalkeeper Stephen Cann who pulled off some good saves throughout the game and saved Darlington's first 2 penalty kicks to take the Millers though.

"Steven was excellent, All night his decision making was good, he made a couple of really good saves, and I am delighted for him." Robbo told themillers.co.uk

"The key to winning the shootouts is coolness under pressure and we showed it again tonight, Looking at the game I thought we lost our rhythm in the first half and we just couldn't seem to get going. We changed things around in the second half and we looked much better. We created a couple of good opportunities and from then on we started to believe in ourselves, which was key to us going on to win the game."

"Darlington are a very good side and the last time they were at Don Valley they took three points off us. This time around I was pleased to see us come out on top and we now look forward to a Northern Area Final."

"We have Scunthorpe in the next stage and we know that they are a good side who are flying at the moment, It will be two games that we are looking forward to but for now we need to make sure our feet are firmly on the floor for a tough league game on Saturday."  he added
