In his after match interview, Mick said "A poor result, It's the same old story, defensive errors, lack of communication, people going forward when they should'nt. When you are on top as we were for the majority if the game if you dont take your chances your going to come under pressure."

"We probably had about four one on ones with the keeper and if you don't score you will always come under pressure, they were decent on the break to be fair. They looked dangerous on the counter attack especially in the second half."

"The players work hard and I can't fault the commitment, We're in a hole and we have to dig ourselves out of it, we'll stick together and fight together and compete as I know we can. I'm confident we can turn the corner."

"We're in a bit of a mess, 12 games without a win, I know the seriousness of that but I've got faith in the players. The players are desperate to do well for this club and they are as dissapointed as anyone, they are sat there with the head in their hands."

"It's another game thats slipped by that we shouldnt have lost! Obviously if you keep making those errors your going to lose games, but in terms of the way we went forward, again we created numerous chances and if you dont score your goals when your on top your going to be under pressure, even against the likes of Colchester, no offence to Colchester."

Butler - Handball
Mick was asked about his thoughts of the fans thoughts as they boo'ed the team off the park, "It won't play on my mind, they pay thier money and they're entitled to say what they like. It's up to them if they want to boo, I respect that. If we're getting beat win in week out then they're going to boo."

On Martin Butlers disallowed goal, "It looked like handball to be fair, although I thought we should have had a penalty before the one we were given."

"Danns got down the left hand side because the full-back's gone forward when he shouldnt have gone forward. He's left a big hole there and we was exposed. Danns was a threat all game and we gave him too much space for the goal."

When asked if he wonders where the next win is coming from? "I think we can win next week, I believe in myself and the players. I'm confident that the next win will come on Saturday."

"I took Monty out of the firing line, he'd had a bit of a bad time and last week his kicking wasnt good. He's a bit down in himself. Neil Cutler's didnt have a save to make, you cant blame him for the goals today, his kicking was good as was his distribution."

Lee Williamson made his first start after coming back from a brain virus which hospitalised him. "Grant Leadbitter went down before the game, he's got problems with his shins, we had 16 players today so Lee did tremendously well to last teh 90 minutes. He was the best player on the pitch today."

"We're on the lookout to bring in some loan players as we are wafer thin now, but its going to be tough."
