Knill - We got exactly what we deserved

The Millers continued their miserable run in recent years on crashing out at the opening hurdle of the competition, leaving the boss to comment on a poor display from his side.

Despair!
Talking to www.themillers.co.uk Knill explained: "We got what we deserved against Peterborough, there's nothing i can say to make it any better. I always give an honest answer and the fact is we were second best and deserved to lose.

"Credit to them - they deserved it as we didn't compete. The only positive to come from the game was the way Will Hoskins played. He was the best player on the pitch and created several great chances. I am gutted as we brought a good following and gave them nothing to cheer about.

"We've had a good month or so, you try to guard against complacency but at times in the first half it looked as though the lads just thought they had to turn up and Peterborough would let us win.

"This is probably only the second time we haven't competed this season, the other was against Chesterfield. We have some tough games coming up in the next few weeks and will try to put things right next week against Nottingham Forest.

"We have also picked up a couple of injuries in the game, Lee Williamson has a toe injury and Michael Keane has pulled a hamstring. We will not not know until Monday how bad the injuries are."
