"Football can be a cruel game and it is very deflating for our players who worked so hard during the match. It was a terrific strike from David McGoldrick but it is the second late goal we have conceded in the last week and it is costing us."

"There's a lot of positives to take out of the performance. They are a keen, competitive, hard working group and that's a lot to work with. Three out of the four goals today were set pieces and we have to be ready for that. It was a poor free-kick to give away for their first goal but you can be critical and say the near post area wasn't well covered although Sears put it away quite well. At that point two minutes in you do feel the worst so it was a very good response by the players and it was right through the game which is something we can build our season on."

"There are things we need to work on but we were very competitive and we look like we have a goal threat and we also stopped the rot of defeats."

"Danny Ward took his goals very well and with his pace, he is a threat and utilising his pace and making sure that we can keep him fit and scoring goals for us, is a big strength,"

Will Vaulks came in for the injured Lee Frecklington and got praise from Jackett. "I like Will, it is early days, I haven't worked with him before or seen too much of him coming down from Scotland. His first game, he competed very well, as did Dominic Ball coming on, he acquitted himself well, after we lost the likes of Frecklington and Halford who have a lot of experience."

"Frecklington has an ankle injury, he did it in the Birmingham game two weeks ago, we are hopeful that next week he will be fit for selection. Halford pulled his calf in the opening period of the game." he added
