Harford Stunned At McLaren Dismissal

Harford saw the decision to send the midfielder off on the hour mark as the turning point and was very disappointed. Talking to the official Rotherham site he said: "It was a scrappy affair and the turning point was the sending off of Paul McLaren because at that stage only one team was going to win and that was Rotherham United. Even with ten men we were the better team as we defended resolutely and the players were magnificent. On the few times we broke away we looked as if we could have nicked a win and if we had got a result no one could have complained. I was really disappointed with the sending off but that happens and I take it on the chin to move off. From then the players responded magnificently and I am happy with the way they performed in that last half an hour. It was never a sending off - the referee said he had done it for kicking by Paul and I have asked the referee to have another look at the tape. I know they have a difficult job but on this occasion I think he might have got it wrong."

Harford: Furious

Harford gave a debut to recent addition, Barry Conlon and he was pleased with how he performed. "I played Barry Conlon from the start and he did very well but he has had a bit of flu so we just gave him ten minutes in the second half, he will get better when he gets fitter. We needed competition up front and now we had two strikers on the bench, that's something we haven't had all season."
