Onwards for Beer

We were all to meet up back in the Oak later in the night but for now I went along to Arcadia and sampled some of the ales with Kim, Burnsy, Yeard, Adam, DGH and the Grists. We had a good chat about all things that had happened throughout the day before moving on up to the Oak for the last drink.

The Royal Oak was lively with locals and footballers from other teams. IMFC were certainly well oiled up with beer but nowhere near as much as the Friday night. The supporters with no football to play in the morning were a different matter but a few were still suffering from the Friday night! When the Oak closed we crossed the road to end the night in the Sky Rack.

There were lots of social pockets in the sky rack. The atmosphere was great and there was a real sense of togetherness about the team and supporters. Personally, I spent the rest of the night playing on a 10 pin bowling game with the Elliott’s over a couple pints of Guinness! At the start of the night the champion of the world was Jammer but come the last game I had perfected the technique and taken the crown in the last game!

Come the end of the night we all headed back to the hotel singing Rotherham songs. However, a select few wanted to hunt down another beer including Jammer, Shark and Duds!

Back at the hotel Duds was out of it, so the lads took the opportunity to leave him a few tattoos to remember the night by. It was to the amusement of the rest of the team when Duds turned up to breakfast the next morning with drawings all over him.

Just like the year before the Saturday had been a fantastic day where pretty much everything (bar the opening game against Scunny) went as planned. The difference this year is that we wanted to push on past the last 16 to see how far we had come, not only as a team but as a squad.
