Man In The Middle - Brentford

The Referee chosen to officiate at The Millers game at Brentford's Griffin Park this Saturday is Gavin Ward, of Surrey.

Gavin joined the list of Football League assistant Referee's at the start of season 2002-2003, and he won promotion to the National list of Football League Referee's for the 2007-2008 campaign.

Last term he took charge in 25 games (not including Jpt) showing yellow 73 times (2.92 per game) and sending off 9 players.

He was in the middle for just 1 game involving The Millers, this being our 3-0 win over Wrexham at Millmoor on the 22nd December 2007.

After just 14 minutes he ordered Wrexham's Matt Crowell off the park for serious foul play after a 2 footed lunge at Millers midfielder Ian Ross.
He went on to book 3 other players, these being Millers centre-half Ian Sharps, plus Wrexham's Chris Llewellyn and Steve Evans.

So far this season, Gavin has taken charge of 2 games and showing 5 yellows:

League 1 Sat 16 Aug 2008 Milton Keynes Dons 1-0 Northampton 2 yellows

He will be assisted at Griffin Park by Lee Betts (Norfolk) and John Hopkins (Essex)

The fourth official is Carl Berry, also of Surrey.
