“We have to be better. We have to lay gloves, we have to be better in duels. We were too passive, we were too negative, we weren’t on the front foot.
“That’s taking nothing away from Cardiff, I think Cardiff are the best team in the league and I think Cardiff will get promoted this year. But I’ve got no interest in Cardiff, my interest is in Rotherham United. I wouldn’t say we gave them a leg up but we performed miles below the standards we expected.
“I just felt we got too complacent as a group [after the red card]. I reiterated that at half-time and I honestly think we didn’t get much better. That’s the bit that frustrates me.”
