Cutler - Came in for Monty
Johnson called in young Matt Harrold, a summer signing from Brentford for his debut, and he came closest to getting on the scoresheet in the 61st minute when a powerful header from a Lee Johnson cross was tipped over by debutant goalkeeper Neil Cutler.

Although there were two divisions between the two sides last season, the Millers were knocked out of the FA Cup by Yeovil. Since then Mick Harford has taken over as manager and has instilled a discipline and purpose in their play, particularly at the back.

Rotherham were not daunted by the pre-season hype surrounding Yeovil and had the better of the first half. In the 15th minute Paul McLaren had a shot pushed over by Chris Weale and home skipper Terry Skiverton came to the rescue when a goal looked likely.

In the 43rd minute Weale was caught out of position near the corner flag, trying to shepherd the ball out of play. Martin Butler picked it up but had no angle and fired into the side-netting.

As Yeovil took over the second period Kevin Amankwaah and Kevin Gall were just off target, but overall a point each was fair enough.

Skiverton, always an inspiration at the back for Yeovil, limped off in the 79th minute with a hip injury, but is not expected to miss next weekend's game.
