In a tight game of few clear-cut chances a draw was probably a fair result.

The Millers started the game well and almost took the lead in the second minute when Nicky Daws headed Chris Sedgwick's cross just over the bar.

Alan Lee fired just wide and Matt Murray had to get down well to save Richie Barker's 25-yard drive before Wolves began to settle.

Kenny Miller fired just wide before captain Paul Ince wasted a fine chance five minutes before the break.

The former England international blasted his shot from the edge of the penalty area over the bar after Marc Edworthy's cross was only half-cleared.

The game remained tight after the break although Denis Irwin almost broke the deadlock in the 58th minute when Mike Pollitt had to be at his best to tip the former Republic of Ireland international's free-kick around the post.

Barker powered a header straight at Murray midway through the second half while at the other end the on-loan Carlton Cole saw his deflected shot well saved by Pollitt.

Andy Monkhouse and Lee had half-chances to win the game but Ronnie Moore’s side had to settle for a point as they moved up to 11th in the Natiownide Division One table.

With the top seven teams in the table all winning Wolves lost ground and they now stand eighth, 11 points behind second-placed Leicester City.
