Ronnie Commented:

“Right from the first minute we were up for it, the attitude was magnificent and we could have scored more goals.

Our passing was good and at times Jody Morris showed the skill we know he has. Michael Proctor sprayed the ball about, laid on two goals and he deserved to score from the penalty.

I don’t think we reached the same level in the second half, we 2-0 up and cruising but I am glad Burnley didn’t score because it would have been backs to the wall for us.”

“I was glad the keeper came out for Buts goal because there was no way he was going to get there.”

Ronnie went on to praise
Butlers effort and commented on how well he felt Martin had done to replace Alan Lee.

“Martin Butler got the opening goal and when you consider what we paid for him and what we let Alan Lee go for, he is an excellent player and brave as well.”

After a man of the match performance by Michael Proctor, Ronnie had nothing but praise for him too.

“The penalty put the seal on it and I am glad Proct scored because if the keeper stands up he would have saved it but it showed how confident Proc is.”

Ronnie went on to praise the crowd, and then say how the Millers would be giving their all next Sunday at Walsall.

“The crowd were brilliant as well, they really got behind us right from the kick off although our performance helped.”

“Overall it was a tremendous performance and now we have to kick on and go to
Walsall now where we owe Gillingham a favour by doing our best. We have to be nice and positive and finish with as many points as we can.”
