Port Vale 1-0 Millers

Last updated : 03 February 2011 By Deano

After a goalless first period, the Millers' best chance fell to Adam Le Fondre, whose close-range shot was straight at Vale keeper Chris Martin.

Valiants loanee Jay O'Shea struck the post with a free-kick earlier in proceedings, before scoring the game's only goal with a brilliant volley from 20 yards out.

Justin Richards should have doubled the home side's lead, but he scooped the ball over the crossbar from 10 yards.

Nicky Law also went close for the visitors with a shot that drifted wide, whilst Ryan Taylor crashed a left foot shot off the top of the crossbar as Rotherham lost their third away game on the spin without netting.
