The Shrimps will be pleased with a draw, after Tom Elliott, Adam Le Fondre and Kevin Ellison failed to capitalise on a dominant second half in particular.

Boss Ronnie Moore reverted back to the same side that beat Lincoln last weekend, with Elliott and fellow loanees Exodus Geohaghon and Dean Holden recalled.

In the opening half hour, Le Fondre shot wide from six yards after being set up by Tom Newey and Danny Harrison forced the first meaningful save from Barry Roche, as he parried the midfielder's low shot wide for a corner.

ellisonbigEllison (right) tried his luck soon after as Rotherham maintained a decent tempo, but his effort from outside the box flew high over Roche's bar.

The home side slowly came into the game as the half wore on, with former Miller Adam Rundle involved in their build up play as he saw a shot well saved by Andy Warrington.

After the break the Millers gained further control and laid siege on the home goal.

Le Fondre came the closest to breaking the deadlock on 47 minutes as his powerful shot from outside the area smashed off the crossbar and bounced back to safety.

Le Fondre then laid a great chance on a plate for Elliott with a chipped cross, but he headed wide of the upright after being left totally unmarked from 10 yards.

Ellison then saw a left foot drive parried by Roche with 20 minutes left and moments later he scuffed an effort at the home 'keeper after Holden's up and under into the area wasn't cleared.

With ten minutes left on the watch Chris McCready almost nicked it for the home side on the counter, as he headed a rare second half corner against the post.

But Ellison was determined to have the final say, and after thrashing a crossshot out for a goal kick he almost won the match in the last five minutes.

Le Fondre's neat flick put the winger through for a strike at goal but he was denied by a last ditch tackle from Darren Moss and with just a minute remaining Ryan Cresswell's header almost fell kindly for Ellison to toe poke the ball home, but Roche gathered in the six yard box as the game ended in stalemate.
