Millers 2 Middlesborough 2

The Millers came out in the new all black away strip, while Boro wore they're normal home kit.

In honestly the first half was a bit of a non-event, but Boro had the best of the play and the few chances there were, until the last minute of the half when John Mullin scored after Michael Proctor had got around 2 defenders and squaded the ball to him.

Mark Viduka
However within 30 seconds of the restart Boro were on level terms, Mark Viduka (sponsored by Pukka Pies) turned subsitute Shaun Barker inside out and put Mendieta in who lifted the ball into the net.

On 56 minutes Shaun Barker couldnt handle Viduka again and gave away a penalty with a rash challenge. Viduka took the penalty himself and put it into the left corner leaving Monty picking the ball out of the net twice in 11 minutes which was a little unfair on him.

However the Millers heads didnt drop and they played some nice football, especially when attacking, the half time changes which brought on Vernazza, Hoskins, Hursty, Scotty and Shaun Barker had given the team a bit of punch up front.

Equiliser
Richie Barker was winning the majority of the headers and placing them well for the lads to move onto, and the Millers were not long in equilising. Sedgewick who had looked fresh and sharp all night, cut inside a hit a shot which took a big deflection and looped over Schwarzer in the Boro net.

The Millers continued the attacking theme and could have won it, if Darren Garners shot from about 8 yards not been pushed over the top by Schwarzer.

Overall a good run out for the lads, and although Boro were'nt going hell for leather we gave a good show of ourselves, positive showings from all on show. In fact the only downpart for me is that I think the seats look crap!
