The Millers were unchanged from their win at Lincoln for the match with Torquay United, who included their late loan signing from Swindon Lloyd Macklin in the starting eleven

Torquay tested Warrington in the first two minutes when a Mark Ellis' header brought the best out of the Millers keeper.

After the quater hour the Millers got into their stride hitting the post twice in the space of a minute, Gary Roberts smacked a shot against the post, with top scorer Adam Le Fondre hitting the same post on 18 minutes.

On 20 minutes the Millers made sure this time when midfielder Danny Harrison made Torquay's Lee Mansell pay for failing to clear a Nicky Law cross, Harrison prodding the ball over the line.

The second half saw the Millers again hitting the woodwork, this time the crossbar as Le Fondre put through by Roberts broke clear and lifted the ball over Torquay goalkeeper Bevan only to see the ball hit the crossbar.

As the half wore on Torquay came more into the game, Barnes having a gilt edged chance but blazed the ball over the bar with only Warrington to beat.

With five minutes left on the watch Torquay were rewarded when substitute Elliot Benyon cashed in on a long throw from Chris Robertson.

To finish the night off for the Millers they had Gary Roberts sent off after he gathered his second yellow card for what seemed a 50/50 challenge.
