Worldnet 2005 Overview Part 3

QPR vs Rotheram

This was it, we had made the Worldnet final, and we literally walked from our semi final pitch straight onto pitch A, where the final would be played against favourites QPR.

Denti: Nobody will get passed us!

QPR came at us early but the defence remained tight as always. Clear cut chances were limited except once where Burnsy found himself through, but a last ditch tackle from a QPR defender saved the day. In the second half it would be the Millers that would take the lead 7 minutes from the end after Burnsy latched onto a through ball and slid the ball passed the keeper. With 30 seconds of full time to go QPR were awarded a free kick from 25 yards out. Fate struck and a perfectly dispatched free kick sent the game into extra time.

Lads try and pick themselves up

It was hard to pick ourselves up, and things looked even worse when QPR were disgracefully awarded a penalty just into extra time. A superb from Sharky spurred the lads on though, and minutes later Burnsy would latch onto a through ball and win the game and tournament for the IMFC. Joyous scenes were sparked, all of which will be detailed in Jebu’s review later this week.
