Internet Millers: Worldnet 2005 Draw

Last updated : 05 June 2005 By Denti

The Internet Millers have been drawn against Scunthorpe, Coventry, and Crewe in group ten of the Worldnet sports interactive cup.

The draw is considered a good one, and the Internet Millers will surely be favourites to win the group. A recent game with
Scunthorpe ended in a 0-0 draw, but the squad was not and full strength. Two league games this season have seen a 1-1 draw in Rotherham, and a 5-0 win for the IMFC in Scunthorpe. The force of Coventry is relatively unknown for tournaments, although they did beat the IMFC 2-0 in a friendly game earlier this season, in which a much depleted squad travelled to Coventry. Finally, Crewe are known as a side that play the game in true Internet Football spirit, and the IMFC are clear favourites to win this game.

The Worldnet competition brings together 64 supporters teams from the
UK and mainland Europe to compete for the Worldnet cup and plate in Leeds. The competition starts on Friday 15th July when the IFA cup final will be played, and then group and knockout games are held over the Saturday and Sunday. Groups consist of four teams, with the top two placed teams from each group forming the Cup competition, and the bottom two forming the plate competition.

Worldnet is as much about the social as the football, and it is guaranteed that there will be two good nights out on the Friday and Saturday. Last year the IMFC reached the last 16 of Worldnet, and this year they aim to better that. The Worldnet 2004 report can be found by clicking here.
