Internet Millers vs Barnsley Review

A local derby with Barnsley gave us a good opportunity to get back to winning ways and victory was assured after an emphatic first half display. Chris Grist got the ball rolling after some classic wing play by JV and Burnsy doubled the advantage soon after with a low drive from 18 yards. Young Grist bagged his second and Jeb rounded off a great first half with a nice finish from an acute angle. Other opportunities were wasted and Barnsley gained a consolation to make it 5-1 at the break.

Wholesale changes at half time did not deter us from creating many more chances. Andy P, Symon and Burnsy all wasted good opportunities. Eventually we did boost our goals tally further when debutant Andy Gilby poked in from close range after a corner fell at his feet. Complacency then struck and we switched off for the last 20 minutes or so which allowed Barnsley back in to the game as they scored two goals, one direct from a corner. However, we held on for the victory knowing that the 5-3 scoreline was not a true reflection of our superiority.
