It was noted in the preview that the Hudders defence may struggle against pace and it proved to be the case. The Hudders lads are a great set and are one of the teams we have voted for as team of the year over the past couple of seasons. Even though they couldn’t play us at their usual pitch with facilities and food the usual Hudders hospitality and friendliness was still on show. I would like to thank Phil for all his hard work throughout the week with myself to ensure this game went ahead and even though the Millers ran out comfortable winners it was all played in IFA spirit. The fact I barely had to give a free kick in my 20 minute stint as a referee epitomised this.

For us it was a fantastic result and it takes a great deal of skill and hard work to win a game with double figures. We traditionally do well against Hudders but this was by far our best performance against them since we have started. I thought everyone had a good game but if I was pushed for a man of the match it would go to either Steve R or Gaz Elliot in the centre of the park who dominated throughout and chipped in with goals from midfield as well. Credit to Symon for a neatly taken hatrick who is proving himself as a great natural finisher. Personally I was involved in nearly all 11 goals and was pleased to get off the mark with a brace. Mark is also worth a special mention for a solid performance after coming back from a nasty knee injury, his debut in a full 90 minute game and a good solid start. Personally the 100 goals between me and Steve is a nice landmark to reach after our 4 against
Huddersfield but rest assured we are focused on getting a lot more goals into the future!

100 goal partnership!
