Wembley 11 years on- The fans remember

How old were you when we went to wembley?

15 years old

What was your best memory watching Rotherham up until that day?

Nothing really stands out, I remember going to York in the FA cup and coming back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3. Ian Helliwell scored which was memorable in itself.

Describe your day?

We went down on a coach getting there before the players, we waited for the bus to arrive and then went on a bit of a tour around Wembley. We ended up among the Shrewsbury fans and one or two witty ones were giving us some banter. We headed in very early (we were too young to drink) and watched some poor charity game and it seemed to take an age before kick off. The game was ok, to be honest I'm not one of these people who think Wembley was a brilliant day. It was (and still is) a bit of a mickey mouse competition and I wasn't extatic when we won. It was a good day out but I get more pleasure from the Hartlepool or Brentord games when the results clinced promotion than Wembley.

What is the best memory of the day?

We are the champions coming over the tannoy

Memory that will always stay with you?

The fans, it was a good turn out even though it was swelled by pigs.
