Wigan Athletic - The 20 Questions.

Last updated : 30 September 2004 By Bigrich.....
Who are you and how long have you supported your team?
Paul Farrington
Age:19
Supported Wigan since 1992. Season ticket holder since 1995.

What was your first game?
Reading at home. I can barely remember it because all I wanted to do was play football on the terraces.

Describe the most memorable and worst game you've seen and why?
Bristol Rovers away when we lost 5-0, simply because of the long journey, the 50 or so away fans and the completely one sided defeat.
Millwall win 1-0 in the Auto Windscreens shield final. It was lovely to see my team win at Wembley.

Who do you consider as your current local rivals, and why?
Preston, Burnley and Stoke. The three local sides that seem to have a problem with us! We've always hated Preston because previously they have always been a bit better than we are!

Who are the best and worst players you have seen?
Worst - Mark Leonard.
Best - Nathan Ellington.

Which current or former Rotherham player impressed you most?
Paul Warne. A Latics old boy, he didn't do much when he was at our place but he has been playing well for you guys.

How did you fare last season?
Just missed out on the playoffs on the last day of the season which was agonising! Hopefully we can go one better this year and make them :-)

If Wigan were a TV personality, who would it be and why?
No idea!

So what do you think of Rotherham?
Good manager, no money, hard working, hard to beat and horrible to go away to!

Is your manager barking mad?
No, just passionate!

Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff?
Yes very. The club is in great shape at the moment.

Which team do you want to beat the most this season and why?
West Ham. They cost us our playoff place last season. We have already beat them 3-1 at their place.

What sort of line-up can we expect from you?
4-4-2. We have a number of injuries at the moment so its any guess as to the players involved but Ellington and Roberts should be upfront.

Predicted score?
Without being disrespectful, this would be a game that we would hope for as being a home banker, given your poor start to the season.
2-0

Who's going up?
If we can stay injury free, which we aren't then were in with a shout. This season so far I've been impressed with Watford, Q.P.R. and Reading.

Who's going down?
Sorry, but I think Rotherham, Crewe and Gillingham.
