Twenty Questions - Leicester City

Last updated : 08 September 2004 By Bigrich.....
Who are you; where are you from and how long have you supported your club?
Graeme Smith, I live in Loughborough, and I've followed Leicester for around 5 years now (4 full seasons as a season ticket holder)

What was your first game?
My first game was Leicester vs Southampton in 1999. We won 2-1 (Steve Guppy scored ...)

Describe the most memorable and worst game you've seen and why?
The most memorable game I've seen was the 1-0 victory over Birmingham last season. Simply because it was straight after the La Manga 'affair,' the 2000 Leicester fans were awesome, and it was the best day out I've had.

The worst game, was on Bank Holiday Monday at home to Brighton. We lost 1-0, and the anger vented by the crowd at the end was entirely justified. I can also point to losing 6-0 at home to Leeds in the Worthington Cup, just after Peter Taylor was sacked ...

Who do you consider as your current local rivals, and why?
Derby, Forest and Coventry (I'm not sure why - I think it's tradition!). My least favourite of the 3 are Derby - I just don't like them at all!

Who are the best and worst players you have seen?
Best - Neil Lennon, Muzzy Izzet, Paul Dickov - all played their heart out
Worst - Junior Lewis, Jordan Stewart (if he plays on Saturday, I reckon the points'll be in the bag for you guys!)
Alan Lee - How we miss him!

Which current or former Rotherham player impressed you most?
When we played you last, Lee scored a great header past Ian Walker - I'm afraid that's about as far as I can go with that one

How did you fare last season?
If the game of football was 80 minutes long we'd have stayed up. I was disappointed that we got relegated, as we were not as bad as the position suggested. Too many draws!

How do you think you'll do this season?
I still think we'll go up, but I think we'll have to settle for the romance of the play offs after the poor start we've had

What's the local drink and snap?
Drink - Everards Brewery make pretty good bitter (apparently - I drink Fosters!)
Food - It's got to be the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie (mmm pies)

If Leicester were a TV personality, who would it be and why?
It would be Patsy Palmer - a bit shit, but everyone likes her!

So what do you think of Rotherham?
I think they're better than the table suggests, and wouldn't be surprised to see them put on a performance on Saturday

Is your manager barking mad?
No - he's understated, and always positive (even when he has no right to be)

Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff?
No problems - they perhaps need to put their hands in their pockets though.

Which team do you want to beat the most this season and why?
Derby, Forest and Coventry (we've done Derby already), oh and Ipswich (we never seem to beat them)

What sort of line-up can we expect from you?
Walker GK
Dabizas, Keown, Makin, Stewart D
Tiatto, Scowcroft, Nalis, Wilcox M
Connolly and Dublin A

They will have egos to restore - so be warned!

Predicted score?
My gut says, that we ought to be too good for you, so 2-1 to Leicester, but bearing what I've seen this year, it could be a draw

Who's going up?
West Ham, Wigan and Leicester

Who's going down?
Leeds, Rotherham (sorry), QPR
