Sheffield United's 20 Questions

Last updated : 10 December 2004 By Bigrich.....
Who are you; where are you from and how long have you supported your club?

Mick Collins
,Sheffield and 35 years

What was your first game?
Sheffield United v Fulham

Describe the most memorable and worst game you've seen and why?
Memorable:playoff semi final second leg Blades v Nottingham Forest 4-3 two years ago.

Worst recent game Wolves v Sheffield United play off final 3-0 after 20min enough said. Great Expectations killed before we got going. How can we go from a game that had everything to a nightmare in the next game.

Who do you consider as your current local rivals, and why?
Sheffield Wednesday the rivalry between the clubs is what football is all about, opposite opinions in every aspect of the game and what a pleasure to beat them.

Who are the best and worst players you have seen?
Tony Currie my hero! the best we have had in recent years. The worst Stewart Houston who turned out to be well passed his sell buy date when we got him.

Tony Towner
Which current or former Rotherham player impressed you most?

Tony Towner again an entertainer who could play and was a pleasure to watch.

How did you fare last season?
Average, after a bright start, but it was always going to be an anti climax after the success of the previous season.

How do you think you'll do this season?
Play-offs should be achieveable if we can regain our home form.

If Sheff U were a TV personality, who would it be and why?
We are more a film star like Clint Eastwood because we are capable of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

So what do you think of Rotherham?
Like most Blades we have a soft spot for Rotherham, the overachievers who survive through thick and thin who need to be brought in to the 21st century. New ground, new stand, new players?????

Is your manager barking mad?
YES

So does Colin embaress you? Some of the stuff he says makes me laugh!
Passion before counting to ten makes him a media magnet, but you can't argue against his committment to the cause.

Casino! For or against?? and Why
For, any investment which may bring us long term revenue for the team has to be good. Also matchdays could also become a full day out for all compulsive gamblers.

Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff?
We all want them to invest more in the team, but the current directors appear to have got the finances by the scruff of the neck and are trying to find other streams for generating income. Recent chairmen have been dodgy to say the least.

Which team do you want to beat the most this season and why?
LEEDS let them know that we are Yorkshires No 1!!

What sort of line-up can we expect from you?
Recent away successes suggest a defensive attitude with a packed midfield, but I think a 4 4 2 attacking line up as its a derby and its on Sky.

Predicted score?

0 - 2 we need to win as much as you.

Who's going up?
Sunderland , Sheffield United and Ipswich.

Who's going down?
Gillingham, Cardiff and Rotherham unfortunately.
