Nottingham Forest's 20 Questions.

Who are you; where are you from and how long have you supported your club?
I am lee, i am from north nottinghamshire but now living in nottingham, and i've supported forest ever since i realised i wanted to be a football fan at around the age of ten.

What was your first game?
Forest 2 middlesboro 2 in, i think, the 1988-89 season. i only remember how green the pitch looked.

Describe the most memorable and worst game you've seen and why?
the most memorable would be when stan collymore inspired forest to a 2-1 win over man united at old trafford in the 1994-95 season. i was still at school and surrounded by plastic mancs... so beating them in the theatre of wet dreams was something special (not to mention netting me a whole lot of money from various friends eager to offer me 10-1 on a forest win!!). the worst was the 1991 fa cup final. why? because we lost it.

Who do you consider as your current local rivals, and why?
derby are the traditional rivals, but i hate leicester more because they're a dirty cheating scumhole of a football club. at least derby go about their on and off-field affairs with a bit of dignity and integrity. leicester ducked out of paying their bills, went into administration, and have used their ill-gotten gains to poach some of our best players because clubs like forest (who honour their debts) can't afford to pay the same wages as clubs like fester (who do not.)

Who are the best and worst players you have seen?
the best player i ever saw in a forest shirt was des walker who, in his prime, was simply the best defender in the world. we've been lucky at forest because i also saw the best of the astounding stan collymore, the early days of roy keane, and the prime of the great stuart pearce. the worst player award probably has to go to michael stewart who we had on loan from manchester united last season and who obviously didn't give a toss (which is a far greater crime than lack of talent... though he appeared to suffer from that too).

Sedgy
Which current or former Rotherham player impressed you most?
i can't say i'm an expert on rotherham players past or present... but the boy sedgewick seems to be a name often banded around by more knowledgable forest fans looking for transfer targets.

How did you fare last season?
bloody awful really. paul hart lost the plot, david johson broke his leg, michael dawson barely kicked a ball. we were pathetic until joe kinnear arrived and filled in some obvious squad gaps and promted a finishing 17 games that, whilst not always pretty, took us well clear of the drop zone.

How do you think you'll do this season?
*sigh* all the pre-season optimism is gone. we've been shocking so far. We're in the early stages of a relegation battle and show no signs of getting out of it. i think it's a fair position based on performances, but we've got the talent in the squad to get well away from it. i expect us to pick up a little bit and finish around 17th.

What's the local drink and snap?
well i like nothing more than a lovely cup of tea and some gingernuts.

If Forest were a TV personality, who would it be and why?
i don't know. the only tv show i watch is 'buffy the vampire slayer', and i don't see anyone amongst that cast of heroes who i'd compare to poor old forest.

think of someone who was popular and loved 15 years ago, but who now presents a night-time phone in on radio cumbria. the real life alan partridge, that's us.

So what do you think of Rotherham?
before last season i didn't think anything at all (sorry). but after those w£$"ers from west ham refused to get changed at millmoor i decided that i think you're ok. also, and don't take this the wrong way, any side willing to finish below forest this season gets my vote. i bet you've got a whole bunch of ten-year-old fans ready to call me a 'scab' though.... tell me... do any of them know what one is?

Is your manager barking mad?
as a human being, clearly he is. as a football manager... the jury is out... but his management record pi**es all over anyone else we're likely to get.

Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff?
the chairman is not a popular man these days... but most people who criticise him do so for the wrong reasons. it's too tedious to go into here. the backroom staff don't inspire anyone with any confidence.... including, it seems, the players.

Which team do you want to beat the most this season and why?
leicester. because they're scum and i hate them. that said, derby beat
us 4-2 last season, so a bit of revenge would be nice.

What sort of line-up can we expect from you?
the back 5 of gerrard, louis-jean, dawson, morgan and rogers is, on paper, the best in this league by a country mile. alas, as a unit they're about as safe as a bearded man in a dress running towards the whitehouse with a big ticking suitcase.

the midfield will see our star man, andy reid, line up with a selection of muppets who wouldn't know an attacking pass if they found one in bed with their girlfriend screaming 'oh baby yes... i'm an attacking pass,'

up front we have the hideously misfiring david johnson and the enthusiastic marlon king. both could hurt you if we had anyone capable of giving them the ball within 25 yards of the goal.

Predicted score?
we're both low on confidence, but we have won a couple of league games (and three in the cup, including a remarkably unconvincing one against your good selves) so we at least know it's possible. it'll be tight and ugly and i think we might just nip a lucky 2-1.

Who's going up?
wigan, ipswich and sunderland.

Who's going down?
leicester, sheffield united and wolves (ok, we know that's not true... but if both of us can believe it then the days will be that much more bearable)

cheers, and good luck.
lee fountainhead.
