Last updated : 01 November 2006 By Bigrich.....

Hello there, Who are yer and how long have you supported Carlisle?
Jo Merrie - also known as Carlisle_mad_nut. Supported Carlisle for nearly 20 years

What made you support your club?
My mum took me to games, and it started there really. I'm currently living in Leeds, but get to all home games and some away games.

Whats your favorite away day and why?
Favourite away day are the ones we win!! Christamas/New Year fixtures are the best. There is a feel good factor for these games. Usually a few blue santa hats, a couple of santas and then usually a few sore heads.

Whats your proudest moment being a Carlisle Fan?
Probably one of the appearences at Wembley. The first time we were there in 1995, was a spectacle for any supporter and one that should be enjoyed by all fans . The vast sea of Blue and White balloons as well as Green and Red; due to our legendary deckchair strip.

And your most embarassing / disappointing?
Dissapointing would be away at Macclesfield in the league last year. 3 - 0 down at half time. The most embarrasing would be any season during the late Knighton Era.

So who is your main rival?
Depends which league we are in. Darlington, Hartlepool, Any Northern team really.

Isnt Grenta chairman Brookes Mileson a Carlisle fan, has he invested into you??
In me personally? No. Brookes is doing the business at Gretna. Good luck to the guy, but without looking at the Carlisle books, i couldn't say. You'll have to ask Fred Story that one.

If Carlisle was a Song, what would it be, and why?
At the moment. "We are the Champions" - League 2 2005-06
Or, Queen - "Don't stop me now"

Whos your all time favorite player, and why?
A few players have done our club proud. Everyone has their own opinion. I have personally enjoyed seeing players such as Warren Aspinall, David Currie, David Reeves, Steve Hayward, Rory Delap, Matt Jansen, Leon Osman (on loan), Stephane Pounewatchy and any more pull on a Carlisle shirt.

I suppose Micheal Bridges does have to seen as a favourite player. Living in Leeds for 10 years now, the day i was told he was signing for Carlisle i had to double check it was the Micheal Bridges.

Are you missing Michael Bridges?
Who wouldn't? When he was on his game he played some really good stuff. We need to see some strengthening in some areas of our team, and the fee we received from his sale should help. Can't really see why he's keeping the bench warm for Hull though. But that's up to the Hull Manager to decide. He was a valuable player for Carlisle, but i think we all knew he was going to move on to another club. Thank you Micheal.

Big noises were made of Karl Hawley last season, hows he playing this season?
Bit of a slow start. He's been out injured for a few weeks but may be back in the squad on Saturday. So you never know he may just hit form this week!!

What was your aim for the season, and has that changed after the decent start?
Mid table safety - for now. Last year after coming up from the conference, i said mid table would be good, then as the season took momentum you began to want that little bit more. By the end of the season i think it would have been dissapointing not to finish Champions.

Swindon Town away in the FA Cup, happy?
Bit of a hard draw there, but you can never tell. Having lost Dennis Wise they may have a bit of a slump. But who knows.? Lee Peacock is an ex Carlisle player so some connection there. Shame it wasn't a bit further North so a few more fans would make the trip.

One player from this division you would like in your team, and why?
Would like to see someone like Dean Windass. Not the youngest of players, but he has a battling spirit, and can still pop a few goals in.

Worried about losing any players come the January sales?
Not really. Karl Hawley perhaps, but i'd be more worried if we weren't building our squad.

Who's your strongest / Weakest link?
Strongest Link - Our fans
Weakest - The Officials

Predicted Line-up?
Westwood, Raven, Murphy, Gray, Aranalde, Lumsdon,Thirwell (or Billy), Hackney, Gall, Hawley, Beckford

Predicted Score?
2-0 - Home win

Whos going up??
Notts Forest, Tranmere, Swansea and Carlisle!!!!! It's such a tight league this season. I think Rotherham would have been up there if the 10 point deduction hadn't happened.

And finally. Steak & Kidney, Meat & Tatty or Balti??
Sorry it has to be a Brunton Pasty or a Pukka Pie!
