20 Questions - Crewe

Last updated : 21 January 2005 By Bigrich.....
Who are you; where are you from and how long have you supported your club?

I am Will Holyoak, I am 15, I live in London although I get to most games
and I have supported Crewe for about 3 years now.

First game: 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace in 2000, 0-0s are a rarity for
Crewe!

Most Memorable Game: 0-0 vs QPR at Loftus Road in the 2002/2003 season, second to last game of the season when promotion was confirmed.

Worst Game: 0-1 at home to Watford last season, their keeper, Chamberlain, was sent off in the 19th minute at 0-0 but they still won.

Rivals: Stoke, scum, play boring negative football and are filthy scum.

Best player I've seen: Alan Smith in a 3-0 loss at home to Man Utd in the
league cup this season

Worst player I've seen: El Hadj Diouf in a 1-1 draw against Liverpool in a
pre-season friendly last season.

Which current or former Rotherham player impressed you most:

Darren Byfield

How did you fare last season?: We stayed up, so, we did well.

What's been happening since you beat us 3-2 at our place?: We had an almighty run of form propelling us to 8th, lost three in a row since then
and have sold Ashton in the process.

How do you think you'll finish up this season?: About 16th, we will get a few good results but we are adjusting to a different style of play now as
Ashton has gone.

If Crewe were a TV personality, who would it be and why?:
Graham Norton, rarely a dull moment but we are often left exposed at the back.

Do you think you will struggle for goals now Ashton's gone?: No, we will still get goals but just not quite as many as before, the service is still
there and we have other strikers with loads of potential to fill his boots.

You've £3million in the pot! Any players coming in with it?: Not until the summer, although two players, Gary Roberts and Kyle Wilson, have been promoted from the academy.

So what do you think of The Millers?: A similar club to us, but with a more motivational manager and a less skillful manager than ours being the reason for the difference in league positions.

Is your manager barking mad?: As we probably pay lower wages than any club in league one, he is doing an absolutely blinding job, probably barking mad to have rejected more lucrative offers to stay with us.

Are you happy with your Chairman/Backroom staff?: Yes

Which team do you want to beat the most this season and why?: Stoke because they're scum

What sort of line-up can we expect from you?:
Youthful, raw, generous at the back, attractive to watch.

Predicted score?: 3-1 to the Alex

Who's going up?: Wigan, Ipswich, Sunderland

Who's going down?: Rotherham (Sorry), Gillingham and Cardiff
