We were suicidal - Raynor

Raynor watched his side recover from a poor first half to lead 2-1, only to throw away victory with some awful defending as Dale ran out 3-2 victors.

“It was suicidal defending,” Raynor said afterwards to Millersplayer.

“You can’t give the ball away on the edge of the box like that, and you can’t dive in inside the penalty area. You do that and you pay the price. You don’t need to help these teams because they’re good enough without handing it to them

“It was not good enough first half. We rattled a few cages at half time because we just weren’t at the races in the first half; we sat in, we lacked energy and lacked everything to be honest.

"We didn’t move the ball quick enough, didn’t take the game to Rochdale and were disappointing.”
